Alok is one of the founders of Wollongong Diagnostics. Originally from India, after finishing his graduation in medicine and training in Radiology in 2001, Alok travelled to Lausanne Switzerland to further enhance his knowledge and skills on cross-sectional imaging and non-vascular intervention on a short term fellowship. Having worked extensively in India and internationally Alok carries with him a wealth of knowledge in all imaging modalities including MRI, CT scan, Ultrasound and mammography.
He moved to Australia in 2006 and got his first job in Wollongong as a consultant radiologist. Having cleared the fellowship of Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in 2010, he joined Wollongong Hospital as a consultant radiologist and director of training in Radiology till 2019. He is a director and Consultant radiologist at Wollongong Diagnostics, the fastest growing radiology group in the Illawarra region.
His areas of interest are pain management, cross-sectional imaging and Women’s imaging. He is the preferred pain management services provider for the St. George Illawarra Dragons, one of the top NRL teams in the country. He is also incharge of Women’s Imaging at Wollongong Diagnostics.
He is a keen teacher and enjoys teaching radiology trainees and medical students at the Graduate School of Medicine in Wollongong.
On the personal front, he enjoys time with his family, reading, travelling and volunteering for various local organisations.
